I have been a Library technician running the school library at Forest Hill College, a government co-education school in Melbourne, for the past 11 years. I am active in SLAV, presenting at the 2024 SLAV Conference and at a number of webinars. Have also presented webinars for Eduwebinars, and ALIA Schools. I am active in a number of local library networking groups and facilitate a local Oliver user group.
As well as running the school library, I am also responsible for marketing for Forest Hill College, with includes running the school social media, maintaining the school website, and co-ordinating the marketing for school events.
My passion is advocating for school libraries, reading, and promoting Australian authors and illustrators, whilst keeping the school library a vibrant and relevant part of the school community.
I have an active social media presence for my school library on Instagram (@fhclibrary), with over 16,000 Followers around the world. This has allowed me to network with authors and other Bookstagrammers and I regularly attend author events and book launches to support the local writing community.
